To the Alumni:
The future of Stetson College of Law
rests in the hands of its alumni. It is not
a state-supported school that is required
to be ever enlarging its student enrollment and plant facilities at the expense
of personal contacts and individual
guidance.
It is a small, private, independent college, dedicated to providing its students
with a form of personalized quality education that places it among the nation's
top ranking instutitions of legal training.
The cost of quality education cannot
be met by tuition and fees charged to
students. Stetson College of Law must
depend on its alumni to help meet this
cost.
I urge you to read this edition of the
Stetson Lawyer with particular attention. Can Stetson College of Law survive
the crisis in education?
The decision will depend upon you.

Today, Stetson College of Law is one of the most beautiful legal institutions in the world, its
standards are high—placing it among the nation's top-ranking law schools. However, its future is
in question due to rising operational costs. Only you, the alumni and friends of Stetson, can assure
its future.
TO THE ATTENTION OF STETSON GRADUATES:
To the Alumni:
In 1965, at a dinner honoring Dean
Sebring, a group of us of the local business community agreed to pledge ourselves to work during the next 10 years
to raise $25,000 per year for the Stetson
University College of Law. The only condition was that the alumni raise an equal
amount. At the same time, the Law Center Foundation agreed to match both
amounts and raise an additional $50,000
per year.
I am happy to report to you that the
businessmen of St. Petersburg are ready
to fulfill their obligation when the alumni
meet the challenge and raise their
$25,000.
With all of us working together —
alumni, Foundation and the community
—I believe the funds will be raised this
year and every year to ensure that all of
our dreams for the future of Stetson
University College of Law come true.
