STETSON LAW DAY DECEMBER 10!
U. S. Senator, District Judge To Speak
Pre-Law Day Class Dinners Planned
Saturday, December 10 has been officially designated by Justice E. Harris
Drew, President of the Stetson Lawyers Association, as the second annual
Stetson Law Day. On this day the aura of homecoming will pervade the College
of Law as alumni from all over Florida, with their ladies and guests, gather on the
St. Petersburg campus to enjoy the fellowship of old friends and to become
re-acquainted with the aims and accomplishments of their forward-moving
Alma Mater.
Senator Goldwater is a member of
several Senatorial Committees, including the important McClellan Committee and the Labor and Public Welfare Committee. He has recently been
touring the country as Chairman of
the Republican Senatorial Campaign
Committee. His recent book, "The
Conscience of a Conservative," has
attracted wide notice in this presidential campaign year.
Dinners By Classes
In reality, "Law Day" is somewhat
of a misnomer as applied to this year's
calendar of events. It was felt by
some that the last Law Day program
was so full that there was insufficient
time for just plain fraternizing and
acting generally like old grads on a
holiday. This year, therefore, the
"Day" is unofficially scheduled to
begin at 7:00 P.M. the night before
(Friday, December 9), when there will
be Dutch treat dinners by classes at
any rendezvous of their choice.
The Second District Court of Appeal
will be in session on the campus
throughout December 6, 7, 8 and 9.
Alumni are invited to relax in the
cushioned seats of the air-conditioned
courtroom at any or all sessions and
listen to their brothers in the law
deliver their appellate arguments.
Forum Meetings
The meetings of the Labor Relations
forums are ordinarily for business men
SENATOR BARRY GOLDWATER
The morning program will include
a tour of the campus, an informal social hour, and a business meeting.
Luncheon in the Great Hall will begin
promptly at 12:30. The luncheon
speaker will be the Honorable A. O.
Kanner, '15, of the Second District
Court of Appeal. Honored at the
luncheon will be the judges of the
Second District Court of Appeal and
the grandfathers, fathers and sons of
the College of Law.
Goldwater To Speak
Following the luncheon the alumni
will have the privilege of hearing an
address by Senator Barry Goldwater
of Arizona, who will be on the campus
in conjunction with the 22nd Labor
Relations Forum which Stetson is sponsoring, December 9 and 10.

scheduled to fit into the Law Day program, but alumni may attend Forum
meetings on Friday. Speakers and
panelists will include Robert A.
Englander, Vice-Chairman of the National Right To Work Committee; J.
Martin Hass, Industrial Relations Manager, Davison Chemical Company;
James Cameron, Employee Relations
Director of Winn Dixie; John P.
Roberts, Manager of Labor Relations,
Minute Maid Corporation; and Patrick
B. Comer, Jr., Director, Patrick B.
Comer Associates and Editor and Publisher of Labor Analysis and Forecast
and Key to Success in Management.
The stage is set for a day, or days
of fun and enjoyment, with a minimum of time devoted to the business
of the Association. Come early with
your ladies, and enjoy a long weekend.

Stetson Lawyer, in which will
appear an Honor Roll of all
alumni who have supported the
College of Law in 1960 and the

classes.
