CONVOCATION
Stetson lawyers throughout Florida
and from other parts of the country
came to DeLand in mid-November for
a Diamond Jubilee Convocation in
celebration of the University's 75th
Anniversary. Ministers and educators
were to open the three-day meeting
on November 14.
DISTINGUISHED SPEAKERS
Following a luncheon, addressed by
the Reverend J. D. Grey, Pastor of
the First Baptist Church in New Orleans, the program was to include a
reception for delegates arranged by
Mrs. Arthur Lane and Mrs. Hugh
West of DeLand, a panel discussion
on educational problems in Florida
and in the following two days addresses by Rep. Brooks Hays (D.
Ark.), twice-President of the Southern Baptist Convention; the Hon.
Harold E. Stassen, and Billy Graham,
evangelist and ordained Baptist minister.
LAW BREAKFAST
Stetson law graduates will be interested especially in the Law Breakfast in the Stetson Room at the Union
at 9 A.M. on Saturday, November
15th, where Francis P. Whitehair,
Chairman of the Stetson Lawyers Association, will introduce Federal Trade
Commissioner Robert T. Secrest,
Dean H. L. Sebring, Justice Bryan
Simpson and Dr. Louis M. Orr, president-elect of the American Medical
Association.
STUDENT BAR PAPER
The Brief, official publication of the Student
Bar Association, began its second year of publication, with an Orientation Day issue. It will
be published monthly throughout the year.
