Photograph narrative: 17 April 1947- Prof. Dr. Felix Hoering, Chief Physician University Clinic and Head of Polyclinic, University of Tuebingen, testifies for the defendant, Rose: I attended a session of the consulting physicians in May 1943 at the Military Academy in Berlin, At this meeting Dr. Ding gave a lecture on the results of typhus experiements conducted by him on concentration camp inmates at Buchenwald. At the close of the lecture, Prof. Rose gained the floor and proceeded to condemn the experiments in most vigorous language, as being useless and unethical. Prof. Rose's vigorous criticism caused such a sensation that it was the constant subject of discussion in small informal groups of the physicians present, during the remaining days of the session. Knowing of Prof. Rose's attitude, as expressed at the meeting, I am surprised that he is now being accused of criminal medical experiments-in which I am sure he had no part.
