January 4, 1843 (1 page). Letter from Thomas Hart Benton, presumably to Reynolds. The son-in-law Benton mentions was John Charles Fremont, and the expedition to which he alludes was Fremont's summer expedition in 1842 to the Wind River chain of the Rocky Mountains.
