Description
The original nameplate for the 1897 bronze bust of John B. Stetson by sculptor A. Calder. Mrs. Billie Stetson sent this plaque along with a note to then President Pope Duncan explaining how her husband G. Henry Stetson, son of benefactor John B. Stetson, never liked the plate and had another one made for the bust. (See Photo D-510-6). The bronze bust was donated to Stetson University and is on display in the duPont-Ball Library with the new plaque bearing the signature of John B. Stetson. Note and envelope included with some tears and creases.
