Black-and-white film reel, 23 minutes, two seconds in duration, titled; Asturias, Aviles (Spain) August 1924: Removal of Adelantado Pedro Menendez's Remains and Feasts That Take Place By Reason of This Event. John B. Stetson, Jr., an avid scholar of early Florida history, was part of the U.S. delegation present when the remains of Pedro Menendez, founder of St. Augustine, Florida, were removed from the original burial place at Santander, Spain and reinterred at his birthplace, Aviles, Spain. The reel is digitized, and viewable by contacting the Archives.
