Description
Silver round medal inscribed with 'Poland to the United States of America, 1776 July 4 1926' on the front and 'Polska-Stanom Ziednoczonym Ameryki' on the back. In the original red box inscribed 'Mennica Panstwowa' (Mint of Poland). Small blue ribbon attached to case. The medal was issued only in 1926 in honor of the 150th anniversary of U. S. independence. Given to John B. Stetson, Jr., who was appointed Minister to Poland in 1925. President Calvin Coolidge was given the medal in 18K gold - that medal is at the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site at Plymouth Notch, Vermont.
