Lit:uania On Firday night a conference was hall in the ^elveder -
between the Marshal.Mr.Zaleski and Holowko, During this conference
the Polish answer.has been worked ubt and sent the same night by
Mr.Szumlakowski to Eowno, The Polish answer has been published today
it SayS that the proposal to have the negotiations on Aug.20th in
Geneva made by Mr.Holowko was perfectly valid as Mr.Holowko is vice-
chairman of the delegation and entitled to replace the chairman in
his absences. The note proposes to resume the negotiations either in
Konigsberg,if Lithuania things this place more suitable than Geneva*
and this on Aug.22, fta in leaara on Aug.25. If Lithuania selects
Son&gsberg Poland will delegate Mr.Holowko,in case the negotiations
are held in Geneva Mr.Zaleski would preside. The note expresses the
hope that one of the proposals will be acceptable . Poland is the
more interested in resuming the negotiations as the Gomecil ofi the
League is waiting for a report on the matter. The note asks Mr.
Waldemars to kindly trasneit the answer to Mr.Szumlakowski*
Marshal PifesSu&ki left Warsaw for Rumania, he is accompanied by
