Diet. The sitting of the Diet begun yesterday with a protest against the
brutal arrest of deputy Leo Bacsynski whom the police took for deputy
Ladislas Bacsynski,whom the Diet decided to deliver to the Court. The
Minister of the Interior apologized very politely for the misunderstanding. The police move of the Government did not find any respoa.ce of
the Diet which rejected yesterday a limine,i.e. without analysing the
Governments drafts of bills proposing to restitute the building tax and
modify the land tax . This is for the first time in history that the
Polish Diet rejected a Government's draft of bill at once without
analysing it. The raidcal peasant groups, were supported by Piast,the
Socialists and the bula of national minorities . The Government group
voted for the bill together with the Mati rial Democrats,Christian
Democrats and Jews,they had however only 146 votes against 195 of the
radicals who defeated the bill. The Government withdrew then the draft
proposing the establishment of the permanent Capital Leyy and had an
extra sitting last night to debate on the situation. These new taxes
were supposed to be used for the increase of salaries of the employes.
Marshal Pilsudski received yesterday the ministers of Great Britain
and Jugoslavia in the Belveder,he continues however to live in the
Inspectoriat.
China The Polish Government signed on the 19th of May a treaty of
Amity and Commerce with China through its special delegate - Mr.Pindor.
the ratification instruments are suposed to be exchanged in several
months in one of the European capitals, .then the Polish Government will
open a legation in Pekin and two consular offices - one in Kharbin.the
other probably in Shanghai.
Aviation Colonel Rayski will direct a raid of three Polish Potez with
Polish motors manufactured by the Skoda .factory to Angora - Teheran,
Costes and Le Briz are arriving today in Warsaw from where
the will go to Copenhagen.
Qommunists The Com unist deputy Sochacki - whom the Diet decided to
deliver to the Gout escaped from Poland, He got arrested however
yesterday in Berlin during an illegal Communist meeting,
Soviets The Soviets sent yesterday a note to the Polish Government
protesting against the Polish press which reported the discovery of
the railway espionage in Krakow stating that the espionage has been
directed by the Warsaw Soviet Legation, The note says that the entire
affair is .nothing but black-mail
Lithuania The negotiations between Poland and Lithuania, continue in
Warsaw normally.

Influenza There is an epidemic of influenza in Warsaw. Madame
