Minuet for Drums

Minuet for Drums program for World Premiere at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival Theatre, August 27 and 28, 1948. Inspired by Stephan Lorant's book, 'The New World,' with engraved illustrations by Theodor de Bry of Jacques le Moyne paintings. Choreography by Ted Shawn. Music by Richard Malaby. Decor and Costumes by John Christian. Accompanies scrapbook created by Stetson University Theater Arts alumni Walter 'Ret' Turner (class of 1950) to document the Season of 1948 Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, of which Ret Turner was the Stage Manager [see Stover.Scrapbooks.2]. Also includes three photographs of the performance.
