Zach Vane is a musician, sound engineer, producer and sound designer. Zach’s work can be seen throughout multiple mediums and musical genres, such as Trip Hop, Dubstep, Metal and Punk Rock. Zach started out playing the clarinet in 2009 and has also learned to play guitar, bass and drum set. Zach also creates audio for Film, Video Games, Sound Design and Audio Production.
Zach is influenced by a variety of Artists, Composers and Musicians. Some of the most prominent ones would include John Williams, Tipper, Pink Floyd, Jade Cicada, Papa Roach, Seether and Percy Grainger. These influences can bee seen by the way Zach brings genres together with styles like Trip Hop and Psychedelic Punk Rock. Zach Likes to use Ableton Live as he feels it gives him the most freedom and creativity. His favorite plugin is Serum, a wavetable synthesizer that he has used on every electronic song since obtaining it. With the combination of these two tools, Zach has been able to maximize his workflow and has put out two E.P.s Quantum Leap and Zig Zach’s Mind Blowers under the name Zig Zach and has an album in the works. Zach’s work showcases his love of combining genres and styles and hopes to achieve this on his album.
Besides making music as Zig Zach, Zach also enjoys studio work and sound design. Zach has been given the opportunity to record and mix Donegal Hill and TJ Westkie along with his work under Zig Zach. As a sound designer, Zach has designed for the Student Directed One Act at Stetson University’s Theatre Department, Rich Helvy’s game, and has done sound design for Valeria Servigna’s senior project. Zach uses Logic Pro and Qlab for sound Design. He uses a combination of Foley sounds and instruments. Zach uses Logic to manipulate the sounds to aesthetically fit the video. As a session musician Zach has played Drums for Phaedra Jones’s senior project, rhythm Guitar for Jessenia Trusty, rhythm Guitar for Yaiko Gomez and rhythm Guitar and Drums for TJ Westkie. Zach hopes to spread his love of music in every medium he works in. Whether in sound design, producing or performing as a musician, Zach wants to bring joy, love, happiness, and hope through his different forms of music.
