Gentlemen:
Replying to your favor of the 83rd Inst., we beg to say
that when we received your telegram, desiring us to raalce immediate
shipment, it was impossible to get a oar to load, without delay of
several days, but having a oar of higher grade coal loaded, we telegraphed you that we oould ship in the time,desired, naming price of
this ooal, and as we inferred that you wore in a hurry, and a cold
wave predicted, we did not unload any part of it, but shipped it at
original weights. We turned oar over to the Railroad on Thursday,
as we advised you. By referring to B/h, you will see that it was on
that date. If we have erred in shipping you more coal than you
ordered in your telegram, our sole object was in your interest, we
can ship you Pennsylvania ooal at #3,75 per ton, but oannot alwasy
guarantee immediate shipment on account of Railroad sometimes being
short of oars, and are delayed in furnishing them to us.
