This company has been urged for some time to undertake the
publication of another magazine - one specifically for the student
world. It has been represented to us that, aside from the local
college and school publications, there is no independent, inter-college-
iate organ.
Now will you give us the benefit of your opinion of such
a publication? What would you think of it? We assume that what is
wanted is a weekly or monthly of high class character, containing
student editorials, special articles of timely interest to under graduates and allumnae and a classified calendar of all interesting happenings
at your own and other principal universities, colleges and institutions -
all written from the students' point of view.
This is the rough outline of the plan. We want you to
write us if you please, giving us the benefit of your closer acquaintance with student nature and student life and, if you feel disposed,
kindly add a suggestion upon your own part, either as to name of the
proposed publication or any characteristic or feature.
If intelligently managed and edited we think that such a
general college magazine might be soon self-supporting and even profitable. We are able to undertake the venture and conduct it upon a
high plane but until a further decision is reached we prefer that our
name should not be connected with any announcements.
In meantime we will greatfully receive an expression of
your endorsement or criticism of the plan.
