My dear Sir:-
Your letter of the 4th received but owing to ray absence was
not answered earlier.
I have taken great pleasure in procuring the signature of Mr.Mathese n and herewith return 3'ou the subscription list. I trust that some
member of our profession here will be prevailed upon to inorease the
amount to $50. If,at the time these amounts are to be paid,I am in a
position to do so,it will give me great pleasure to increase it myself
but just now I am afraid to encumber myself with too large a subscription. This may seem a little strange to you but if you knew what litigation I was involved in in regard to my property at Tampa you would
sympathize with my caution. I hope some day to be able to give you
some additional aid in this direction.
With kind regards, and assuring you of my earnest desire to assist
you in every pay possible in the development of your Law School,I am
Yours faithfully, * y
