Dear Sir:-
I take pleasure in enclosing te yeu under another
cover, twe ef our annual circulars describing eur twe years
course in Applied Electricity, also our twe years course in
Steam and ^Machine Design, which we call the corresponding
mechanical course.
These courses are not engineering courses in the ordinary
sense ef the term, nor are they intended for those who could
otherwise get a full four years college training. They are
rather intended to give as complete mechanical or electrical
training as it is possible to get in a two year course with
the lower requirements for admission.
The practical aide of the work is strongly emphasised,
and yet the students in both courses get a very thorough training
in those fundamental principles which are going to b« most
essential in their work.
Wo emphasise the laboratory method very largely, and the
program of each one of the classes is arranged on about this
basis* 2 hours each day ef class room work in Mathematics,
physics, mechanics, electricity and the like; 2 hours each day
in drawing and machine design; 2 hours in physical laboratory
or mechanical or electrical laboratory, and twe hours in one of
eur shops; Thus vou will see that the tint is about evenly 41-
