Dear Sir:
Since writing you I have had a letter from Dean
Woodward, of the school of Applied Science, this University,
speaking in still warmer terms of ?Jr. Fernald: and express-
ing himself very strongly as to Mr, Fernald's peculiar fitness
for exactly the position which you have in mind,
I may add that Mr. Fernald is the son of his father,
so long President of the State Agricultural College at Orono—
and therefore comes of most excellent stock.
Cordially yours,
President J, F, Forbes,
De Land, Fla.
