Convocation is scheduled for Friday, April 24, at noon in Elizabeth Hall Auditorium. Please remember to invite the

REMINDER-APPLICATIONS TO THE ARTISTS & LECTURERS COMMITTEE FOR THE 1998-99 ACADEMIC YEAR.
The Artists and Lecturers Committee will soon be considering applications to bring speakers, performers, programs
and the like to the campus during the 1998-99 academic year to enrich the cultural and intellectual life of the
Stetson community. Applications should be sent to Margaret Venzke, Unit 8373, by Wednesday, April 22. Be
sure to present the Artists and Lecturers Committee with a sufficiently detailed application.

REMINDER-ATHLETIC AUCTION. The Stetson University Athletic Auction is scheduled for April 17, 1998, from
5:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Edmunds Center. Over 80 items will be auctioned off in a live auction and over 500
items will be available in a silent auction. Items this year will include several weekend getaway vacations, fitness
equipment, sports attire, autographed memorabilia, jewelry, services and much more. Enjoy an evening dinner
buffet from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. and music throughout the auction for only $5. Proceeds will benefit over 15 men's
and women's NCAA Division I Athletic Programs. Tickets are available at the Edmunds Center Ticket Office from
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday or contact your favorite coach or staff member at ext. 8100.

WASHINGTON POLITICS SEMINAR-MAY 11-24, 1998. Please announce to your classes that the Department of
Political Science will be offering a May seminar in Washington, allowing the student to earn three semester hours
of credit for a total cost of less than $2,000 (including tuition). The course outline and application forms are
available in the Department of Political Science. Because of the deadline for making airline reservations, early
enrollment is important, as soon as possible but no later than April 22. From: Wayne Bailey
ANNUAL COMPETITION FOR FULBRIGHT GRANTS FOR STUDENTS. Applications are available for the 1990-2000
competition for Fulbright and related grants for graduate study abroad in academic fields and for professional
training in the creative and performing arts. For all grants, applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of
application and hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent by the beginning of the grant. Full grants provide round-
trip international travel, maintenance for the tenure of the award, a research allowance, and tuition waivers, if
