LYNN CENTER PLAQUE DEDICATION CEREMONY. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to the Lynn Center
Plaque Dedication Ceremony today, Friday, January 26, in the Lynn Center at 3:30 p.m. The ceremony will honor
those individuals, foundations, and corporations who have contributed generously to the School of Business
Administration's Lynn Center Campaign. Those being honored have designated their gift for specific classrooms,
offices and conference rooms throughout the building, and/or have been major annual donors to the Business
School. The ceremony will begin in the Lobby and will end in the fourth floor Board Room where there will be a
reception beginning at 4:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact Mimi Carter, Development Director

Live in Elizabeth Hall, Saturday, January 27, 1:30 p.m.-Five Music School faculty will be featured in the '96
Homecoming Showcase Concert-pianists Michael Rickman and Ann McLean, bassoonist Ashley Cooley, soprano
Lloyd Linney, and organist Susan Klotzbach. Michael will perform Harmonies due soir from Liszt's Transcendental
Etudes and L'lsle ioveuse by Debussy. Ashley and Anne will play an Andante and Rondo by von Weber for
bassoon and piano. Lloyd and Michael will perform a song cycle by John Duke and Caro nome from Riooletto by
Verdi. The Duke cycle is a setting of poems by American poet Sara Teasdale. Susan will play a Bach prelude and
two pieces from A Quaker Reader by Ned Rorem: "There is a Spirit That Delights To Do No Evil" and "Mary Dyer
did hang as a flag." The Rorem pieces honor two Quaker martyrs who died in 1660.
We will announce upcoming performances in this spot each week, and you can pick up around campus our School
of Music Spring 1996 Concert Series Book Mark listing the entire spring concert schedule. Music School recitals
and concerts are free to Stetson personnel and dependents. From: Jan Kindred
Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Program (supported by the Hollis Renaissance Fund). Stetson
University is pleased to announce the availability of five undergraduate research internship positions for the summer
of 1996. Applicants must select a faculty member to serve as a research mentor to help supervise the proposed
research project. The summer research internship positions will be selected on a competitive basis. Students in
the College of Arts and Sciences, the Business School, and the Music School are invited to apply, but eligible
students must have at least sophomore standing as of the spring 1996 semester and not be graduating until after
the fall term of 1996. The program provides a $2,000 stipend for research done over the eight week summer
session starting June 2, 1996, and ending July 26, 1996. Students may also apply for up to $500 for research
related expenses and for up to $300 for travel to an appropriate professional meeting to present research results.
Students may also request free on-campus housing for the eight-week summer term. The Hollis Renaissance Fund
is providing support for this pilot program.
Application forms and a more complete description of this program are available in any academic departmental
office. The completed applications should be sent via campus mail to Dr. Terry Farrell, campus box 8270. The
applications must be received by Dr. Farrell by Friday, March 1, 1996 to be considered. The applications will be
reviewed by a panel of Stetson University faculty members and successful applicants will be notified no later than
