UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEETING
The next Faculty Senate Meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 8, at 6:45 p.m., in the Faculty Lounge. Topics
of discussion will be the results of the Senate Faculty Satisfaction Survey and who gets to vote in faculty
meetings.
FACULTY SATISFACTION SURVEY. If you did not receive a copy of the results of the Senate's Faculty
Satisfaction Survey, please contact Dr. Randall Hansen, Chair of the Senate. Copies were sent via campus mail
earlier this week.
WHO GETS TO VOTE. The Senate Executive Committee has voted and approved the wording for who gets to vote
in Faculty Meetings. This wording will be brought before the full Senate at its next meeting, and if approved, will
be brought before the entire faculty at the April 15 Faculty Meeting. The wording is as follows:
"Those qualified to vote in Faculty Meetings include the Chancellor, the President, the Chief Academic Officer,
and all current University Faculty who have received tenure, have tenure-track positions, or have multi-year
or continuing appointments."
"Faculty with Senior Active status qualify to vote in Faculty Meetings, but do not count toward determining
the quorum base."
These are both bylaw changes and will require a two-thirds majority vote of approval by the Faculty. An addendum
that will not be a bylaw change, but simply a clarification and thus will only require a simple majority is:
"Those people previously granted voting rights at Faculty Meetings by the Board of Trustees will retain those
rights."

Live in Elizabeth Hall, April 12, 7:30 p.m. The Stetson University Orchestra conducted by Darryl One and featuring
violinists Alvaro Gomez and Routa Kroumovitch will present its second concert of the semester next Friday. Details
