UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEETING-Monday, March 18, 1996. The topic will be a discussion of recruitment and
retention initiatives. Material has been distributed to all faculty. Please read it in advance of the meeting.

In recognition of Women's Issues Week the WGS Program is sponsoring a lunchtime discussion of women's
friendships today, Friday, March 15, from 12-1 in Flagler 313. Interested students, faculty, and staff are all

There will be a department chairpersons meeting for the College of Arts and Sciences today, Friday, March 15,
at 10:00 a.m. in room 202E. The purpose of this meeting will be to go over the new electronic check sheets with
representatives from the Registrar's Office.
REMINDER-There will be a faculty meeting for the College of Arts and Sciences on Friday, March 22, at 3:30 p.m.,
in room 5L. We will continue our discussion of the administrative process to implement the Cultural Events
requirement of the General Education program. Since this process requires some responsibilities on the part of
faculty, it is important to have as many faculty available as possible to agree on the procedures to be employed.

The Hollis Leadership Development Program is pleased to present this year's Woodrow Wilson visiting fellow, Dr.
Ann L. Stanford. Dr. Stanford will present a lecture on "Educational Institutions' role in preparation for living in
a Global economy," on Wednesday, March 20, 2:00 - 3:00, Flagler Hall, Room 234. Dr. Stanford will also present
an informal, active discussion of "How Public Policy Decisions Affect Women and Minorities," on Thursday, March
21, 4:00-5:00 p.m., Flagler Hall, Room 201. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend both sessions.

Presentation on "Egypt Today" by the Distinguished Ambassador Hermann F. Eilts. former Ambassador to Saudi
Arabia to Egypt. We are pleased to announce the visit of Ambassador Eilts to Stetson on Monday, March 25, and
his presentation on Egypt's political situation today and the growing Islamic fundamentalist threat which will be
held in the John E. Johns Lecture Hall (room 315 EH) at 2:30 p.m. We hope for a strong attendance and would
