The Newsletter. The University faculty meeting scheduled for Friday, February 15, has been cancelled.

MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 3, 2007 FACULTY SENATE MEETING are attached elsewhere to this edition of The
Newsletter. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 26, in the Faculty Lounge in the Carlton Union
Building. Senators and invited guests meet for dinner at 6:00 p.m. The meeting begins at 6:45 p.m. and all faculty
members are encouraged to attend.

NEW BUILDING UPDATE. A special campus meeting for interested faculty and students is scheduled for Friday,
February 1, at 12:00 noon in the Private Dining Room. Dr. Jim Beasley, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer, and faculty design advisors will present an update on McMahan Hall, Marshall and Vera Lea Rinker
Environmental Learning Center, Sage Hall Science Center, and Homer and Dolly Hand Art Center projects. Attendees
are invited to bring their lunch. Beverages and desserts will be provided. If possible, attendees are asked to use the
back stairs when arriving and leaving to minimize interruptions of an event being held in the Stetson Room.

THE FLORIDA OFFICE OF WOMEN IN HIGHER EDUCATION INAUGURAL CONFERENCE will be held March 28 at St.
Thomas University in Miami Gardens. Donna Shalala is the keynote speaker. The Gender Equity Council and deans
invite Stetson faculty and staff (any gender) to attend. The Gender Equity Council will reimburse participants for
early registration fees ($60 before March 1), meals, one night's lodging, and (in the interest of cutting carbon
emissions) full mileage for any driver who carries at least one passenger. For more information, visit the conference
