LECTURE ON WOMEN & THE N.S. CURRICULUM-TODAY AT NOON
Today at 12 in Sage 213, Dr. Sue Rosser will discuss gender and the natural science curriculum. Trained as a
Zoologist, Dr. Rosser currently serves as Professor of History, Technology, and Society at the Georgia Institute of
Technology, where she is Dean of the Ivan Allen College and Adjunct Professor of Biology. She has published
widely on the culture of science: Dr. Rosser's most recent books include WOMEN, SCIENCE, AND SOCIETY: THE
CRUCIAL UNION (2000), RE-ENGINEERING FEMALE FRIENDLY SCIENCE (1997), and TEACHING THE
MAJORITY: SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, AND ENGINEERING TEACHING THAT ATTRACTS WOMEN (1995). She
was guest editor of a recent issue of WOMEN'S STUDIES QUARTERLY that focused on "Building Inclusive
Science." Dr. Rosser's visit is co-sponsored by the Women's Council, the Women & Gender Studies Program, and
