The February Faculty Senate meeting will be Monday, February 1, in the Faculty Lounge of the Carlton Union
Building. The meeting will begin at 6:45 p.m. preceded by dinner at 6:00 p.m.

WOMEN AND GENDER STUDIES kicks off its Spring Roundtable Series on Tuesday, February 2, at 4:00 p.m. in
Rinker Auditorium, Davis Hall. "Spiking the Stereotypes, Sur-Passing the Gender Ball: Stetson's Women in Sports"
is the topic of the panel discussion featuring representatives from Stetson's Women's Athletics Program. The WGS
Roundtable is an Arts & Sciences cultural-credit event for students. Light refreshments will be served.

The University Chaplain has begun weekly interdenominational worship services on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. in
the Hollis Center Lounge. All are welcome. Dress is casual. From: Laura Walters Baskett, University Chaplain
REMINDER-HATTER BASEBALL '99. The grand opening of Melching Field and Stetson Baseball is February 12.
Festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. and the game starts at 7:00 p.m. Grandstand seats will be offered free to the
general public as part of the celebration. Stetson staff, faculty and students are encouraged to let the Hatter Ticket
Office know if they are planning to attend so we can assure seats for the Stetson community first! If you wish
to take advantage of this, please either email ([email protected]) or call, Keith Napier at ext. 8110 to set aside
your free tickets. We will need to know the number of dependents you are planning to bring, also your Stetson
phone and unit number. Students need to stop by the Edmunds Center Ticket Office with their student ID to pick
up a ticket by February 5.
Season tickets are also available in the reserved section (chair back seats) to the Stetson community at a reduced
price. General admission seats are free to faculty, staff, and students with ID card. If you have any questions,

FACULTY: Please advise your students that the deadline for Study Abroad Programs participation for the Fall
semester of the academic year 1999-2000 is March 1, 1999. The Office of International Exchange is located at

REMINDER-AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CELEBRITY BAGGERS. We are looking for 6-8 professors or
administrators who are willing to work as Celebrity Baggers for the American Cancer Society on February 4. We
will be working at the new Winn Dixie on highway 17-92 (the old Goodings) in the West Regional Shopping Center.
We will be working the 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. shift. You do not have to solicit pledges, just show up and bag groceries.
