Live in Elizabeth Hall, Friday, March 12, 7:30 p.m. —Pi Kappa Lambda, the music honorary fraternity, will present
a recital of chamber music performed by Stetson faculty. The recital is organized by Jane Christeson, president
of PKL. Performers include Bill Rogan, horn; Alvaro Gomez, violin; Michael Rickman and Kristie Born, piano; Lloyd
Linney, soprano; Lynn Cholka, clarinet; Jean West, flute; Ann Adams, oboe; Ashley Heintzen, bassoon; and Boyd
Jones, organ. These musicians will perform Brahms Horn Trio, Copland's "As It Fell Upon a Day," a Mozart trio

SIXTH ANNUAL GENDER ISSUES IN BUSINESS DAY is Thursday, March 11,1999. The School of Business is
sponsoring this event in order to raise awareness of gender issues in professional settings. Any interested faculty
or staff who would like to attend the luncheon, please call Nancy Kernan, ext. 7394, to reserve a space by
Monday. March 8. The schedule of events is as follows:
11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Keynote speaker: Alex Sink, President of NationsBank, Florida (LBC Lobby).
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Faculty/staff discussion and lunch with invited guest panelists (LBC 400).
1:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m. Open panel discussion with Nancee Bailey, Campus Dean, DBCC West; Angela
Brandy, coordinator of Training and Development, Sea World; Dorothea Bean,
Stetson law professor; Suzie Fox, visiting assistant professor, University of South
Florida.
4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Roundtable discussion with faculty and outside professionals, including a social
psychologist, a linguist, a lawyer and a human "resource manager, to discuss a
sexual harassment case.
These sessions are designated to be listed for the Arts and Sciences Cultural Event Requirement. Faculty, staff,
students and the general public are invited to these sessions. Please announce in class and we hope to see you

ALGERNON SYDNEY SULLIVAN AWARDS. Faculty and staff are invited to offer nominations for the 1999
Algernon Sydney Sullivan Awards. These awards are given annually to the man and the woman in the May
graduating class "whose personal example and influence throughout the campus community best exemplifies the
finest spiritual qualities of humanity and high character." This prestigious award generally is considered among
the highest recognition given to a graduating senior and is given at many universities jointly by the institution and
the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation in New York. A committee, including faculty appointed by the Faculty
Senate, will review all nominations and determine the awards recipients. Please provide as much background
information as possible for each person who is nominated. Nominations should be forwarded to Jim Beasley in
Campus Life, Unit 8357, no later than Friday, April 2. The awards will be announced and presented at Honors

ETTER McTEER TURNER AWARDS. Faculty and staff are invited to offer nominations for the fifth annual Etter
McTeer Turner Award, which will recognize the graduating senior who has achieved the highest standard of
excellence in academic performance, leadership, community service, personal character, and integrity. The award
is initiated by the J. Ollie Edmunds family, through the Gualala Foundation, to honor the service of the late Etter
McTeer Turner, and will provide a companion student award to the William Hugh McEniry Excellence in Teaching
Award, which also was established by Dr. Edmunds' Foundation to recognize outstanding faculty members. A
committee, including faculty appointed by the Faculty Senate, will review all nominations and determine the award
recipient. Please provide as much background information as possible for each person who is nominated.
Nominations should be forwarded to the Office of Academic Affairs, unit 8358, by Friday. April 2. 1999. The
