REMINDER-ACADEMIC HONORS CONVOCATION-today at Noon. Friday, April 25. Elizabeth Hall Auditorium. The
entire Stetson community is invited to attend. From: Gene Lubot, Provost
RECEPTION AND CONCERT. Latin American Studies invites all interested faculty, staff and students to a reception
honoring our visitors from Durazno, Uruguay (Carlos Yamandu Fumero Cardozo) and Cuernavaca, Mexico (Lucia
Ramirez Velazquez). The reception will be held in the Pittman Recital Hall (first floor of Presser Hall) at 4:00 p.m.
on Friday, April 25th. Carlos will punctuate the reception with piano performances that will include songs from
his native Uruguay. Lucy will pretend that she doesn't know how to dance a mean tempo. Both Carlos and Lucy
are visiting Stetson as part of the international internship exchange program between Stetson University and

REMINDER-June Brooks Memorial. A memorial service for former Stetson employee June Brooks will be held on
Sunday, April 27, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Student Lounge of the Carlton Union Building. Those who attend
are invited to remember and honor June with anecdotal remarks. There will be a collage of photos and print being
assembled for display. Donors with suitable items to loan or donate may contact June's son, Tom Brooks, at 740-
1869. Those wishing to contribute to the memorial fund established in June's memory can mail checks made out
to Stetson University and marked "June Brooks Memorial Fund" to Karen Kaivola, Unit 8293. Contributions will

CAMPUS-WIDE STAFF RECOGNITION BREAKFAST. The eighth annual staff recognition breakfast will be held on
Tuesday, April 29, in the Stetson Room of the Carlton Union Building. Serving will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the
program will begin shortly after 7:45 a.m. This event is to recognize members of the Stetson community for their
length and quality of service and to reaffirm our commitment to each other and to our students. We encourage
all administrative and support staff to attend this recognition and welcome faculty participation as well.
