ANNOUNCEMENTS
ATTENTION FACULTY. Class rolls for the grade inventory have been distributed. Please record any "C-" or lower
grades that you have, verify by your signature that the rolls are correct, and return all rolls, even if you have no
C- or lower grades to report, to the Registrar's Office by 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 27. If you have any
questions, or have not received a grade roll for a class, please call ext. 7142. We appreciate your cooperation in
this most important matter.
The Registrar's Office will be closed for business on March 2 and 3 so we can move to our new offices in the
Carlton Union Building. If all goes well, we hope to be open for business on March 4. From: AI Wehrle
REMINDER-Competition for the Sam R. Marks Prize in Religion is open to students who have completed at least
three hours in Religious Studies. Two awards will be given for the best paper in biblical research. FIRST PLACE
PRIZE WILL BE $500. Application forms are available in the Religious Studies Department Office, 202 Allen Hall.
Please encourage students who may qualify to enter the competition. The Sam R. Marks contact is Clyde Fant,
ext. 7520, or you may contact Kim Loadholtz in the Religious Studies Department at ext. 8930 if you need further

The course AS 1 52, environmental History and Culture: Nature and the American Marketplace, continues with the
following special events remaining. Guests will participate with the students in discussion of the course topics,
and they will serve the students as consultants for their research projects. All events are Thursday nights, 6:00 -
9:00 p.m., in Sampson 205, except as noted on April 16.
March 12: Jora Young, Florida Nature Conservancy: Director of the Disney-Wilderness Preserve, co-author of The
Ecology of Hope-
March 26: Steve Tonjes, Florida Department of Transportation: Environmental Biologist, DeLand Tree Advisory
Board, recent candidate for the City Commission, landscape and environmental consultant.
March 28: Tour and educational overview of environmental projects at the Disney-Wilderness Preserve (leaving
the CUB circle at 7:00 a.m. and arriving back at 7:00 p.m.)-space is limited, so ask about this one.
April 16: AS 452 student research projects on local environmental issues to be presented in Peter White's business
ethics class (BN.299, meeting from 3:30 - 7:30 p.m. in LBC 101, with a dinner hour break from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
