• Update on SACS Self-Study, Dr. Kandy Queen-Sutherland.
• Vote on University Faculty and Faculty Senate Bylaws.
(NOTE: Appended elsewhere to The Newsletter are copies of the Preface to the final drafts of the revisions to the
University Faculty Bylaws and the Faculty Senate Bylaws and the final drafts of both sets of bylaws. The Bylaws
Revision Committee is bringing these drafts forward for a vote at the April 14, 2000, faculty meeting. These

be referred to Jane Bradford, ext. 7190, (jbradfor), Chair, Bylaws Revision Committee.

The Faculty Senate congratulates Mollie Rich on her election to the Faculty Senate. Starting next fall, Rich will
serve as one of three senators representing the School of Music in the Senate. Thank you to ail Music School
faculty members who agreed to be included on the election ballot for this election.

The Chaplain's Office is sponsoring a Bookfeast on Laurent Daloz' book Common Fire: Leading Lives of
Commitment in a Complex World, on Tuesday, April 11, at 4:00 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge. Daloz and his coauthors provide a compelling study into how we become committed to the common good and sustain such
commitments in our changing world, as well as suggesting ways in which higher education and other institutions
can contribute to this process. Twenty copies of the book are available from the Chaplain's Office (ext. 7523).
Additional copies can be purchased from the Bookstore. Leaders of the Bookfeast will be Dean Grady Ballenger

Stetson's Spring Blood Drive will be held on Wednesday, April 12, and Thursday, April 13, from 10.00 a.m. until
4:00 p.m. in the Stetson Room of the Carlton Union Building. Please donate blood and encourage your friends,
colleagues, and students to join you in being a blood donor. Remember, many lives depend upon our willingness
