ACADEMIC HONORS CONVOCATION-Noon, Friday, April 25, Elizabeth Hall Auditorium. The entire Stetson
community is invited to attend this year's Academic Honors Convocation and to show the students our
appreciation and congratulations on their accomplishments this academic year. A reminder to faculty that it is your
responsibility to ensure that the awardees are present at the ceremony. If you still have names to be included in
the program please get them to Maggie by noon on Tuesday (absolute deadline). From: Gene Lubot, Provost
REMINDER-The American Studies Department, the Honors Program, and the Hollis Leadership Development
Program are co-sponsoring a public lecture by John Haught, professor of religious studies at Georgetown
University, on Wednesday, April 23, at 1:00 p.m. in 205 Sampson. Professor Haught's many books, articles, and
lectures deal with issues in religious studies, philosophy, ethics, and ecology. He has a reputation for making
difficult issues accessible. He is willing to visit with classes on the morning of April 23; please call the American
Studies office (ext. 7530) with your suggestions. He will also be available for a "meet the author" reception for
students at 3:00 p.m. in the guest house lounge (212 West Minnesota Avenue) to talk about how he became
interested in these fields of study. Please announce these events to our students.

THE ANNUAL MASTER CALENDAR MEETING will be held on Monday, April 21. 10:00 a.m., in the Carlton Union
Building, rooms 204/205. We are asking that you submit any major events planned for 1997-98 to the Student
Life Office, unit 8334, by Wednesday, April 16, in order to prepare a preliminary calendar for this meeting. You
