UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEETING-noon, Rinker Auditorium, Davis Hall, Friday, April 16,1999. PLEASE NOTE THE
CHANGE IN LOCATION. Items on the agenda include reports on Admissions Strategy (Jim Beasley), Faculty
Compensation Task Force (Jim Woodward), and a report from the Academic Affairs Committee of the Faculty
Senate on approved changes in the Women and Gender Studies Program. Lunch will be provided.
ACADEMIC HONORS CONVOCATION is Friday, April 23, at noon in Elizabeth Hall Auditorium. Those presenting
awards should assemble stage right. A reminder that it is the presenter's responsibility to ensure that the award

LECTURE SERIES BY DR. KLAUS HOPPE. One lecture remains by Klaus Hoppe, M.D., Ph.D. based on his work

Live in Elizabeth Hall, Friday, April 16. 7:30 p.m. —Reminder of the performance of the Concert Choir, with Duncan
Couch conducting. See last week's Newsletter for details.
Live in Elizabeth Hall, Saturday, April 17, 7:30 p.m.—The final concert of the University Symphony Orchestra,
directed by Darryl One, will feature the winners of the student concerto competition. Baritone Daniel Cilli will
perform Songs and Dances of Death by Modeste Mussorgsky, arranged by Dmitri Shostakovich. Violinist Una Tone
will perform Introduction and Rondo capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saens. The orchestra will open the program with
an early 20th-century work, Overture to The Secret of Susanna, by Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari, and will end with
Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade Suite.
Live in Elizabeth Hall, Tuesday, April 20, 7:30 p.m.—The concert of the Campus Chorale, conducted by Robert
Rich, will include works for choir and brass with Stetson's Brass Ensemble, coached by David Schmidt.
