Newsletter is information pertaining to the meeting. Please note that included in the material is a response form

REMINDER: The Ann Morris Essay and Creative Writing Contest, sponsored by the Women and Gender Studies
Program-Faculty, please announce to your students. All undergraduate students currently enrolled at Stetson are
invited to enter the Ann Morris Essay and Creative Writing competition, sponsored by Stetson's Women and
Gender Studies Program. To enter, please submit an essay or creative work that you have written specifically for
the contest or that you have written for a class. All entries must be received by Friday. March 14, 1997. The
entry may be in any recognized discipline or be interdisciplinary. It should be written in a format appropriate to
the discipline(s). Creative writing may be any genre. Single or co-authored submissions will be accepted. TO
ENTER: Submit your writing to WGS Essay and Creative Writing Contest, c/0 Dr. Diane Everett, Department of
Sociology, Unit 8376. For more information contact Diane Everett (ext. 7244). The competition will be judged
by a panel of faculty who will have no access to the names of the entrants. Winners will be recognized at the

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP. The Professional Development Committee and the Department of
Teacher Education will sponsor a panel discussion on "The Implications Associated with the Learning Disabled,"
April 14, 1997, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., in the Private Dining Room. The panel will include Professor Bob Bickel,
College of Law, a representative from the Counseling Center, a local psychologist as well as faculty from the
Department of Teacher Education. Dinner will be served immediately following the discussion. Further details on
