UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEETING-today, Friday, February 18, Stetson Room. The agenda for the meeting is a
discussion of Academic Quality and Benchmarking. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:45 a.m.

WASHINGTON SEMESTER. Application materials for enrollment in the Washington Semester during the Fall
Semester are available in the Department of Political Science. Students have several options in selecting an area
of emphasis: American Government and Politics; Public Law: Peace and Conflict Resolution (with three weeks field
experience in the Middle East); Criminal Justice; International Business and Trade; Print and Broadcast Journalism;
Economic Policy; U.S. Foreign Policy; International Environment and Development (with three weeks of field
experience in Zimbabwe), and Information Technology and Communications. Stetson alum Senator Max Cleland
has established an endowment which will fund two $1100 tuition scholarships. The deadline for application is

DIGITAL ARTS EXHIBITION OPENS. A catered reception hosted by Doug Lee opens Technology and Identity, an
exhibition featuring the innovative works of eight digital artists: Marcin Ramocki (Assistant Visiting Professor of
Digital Art), Akiko Sakaizumi, Ed Osborn, Luc Courchesne, Alice Finney, Steve Mann, Deborah Sayre, and Gail
Wright. Reception is 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Duncan Gallery of Art/Sampson Hall. Exhibition continues through
Sunday, March 26. Free and open to the public. A&S cultural credit for attending students.
NORDSTROM LECTURE MOVED UP ONE WEEK. A lecture by Alison Nordstrom, Director of the Southeast
Museum of Photography, Daytona Beach, has been rescheduled. Her talk, "Women in Photography," will be at
7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 22 (instead of the 29th) in auditorium 25-L of the Instructional Media Center.
The lecture is free and open to the public. A&S cultural credit applies for attending students.

STUDENT PUBLICATIONS MANAGERS AND BOARD MEMBER WANTED: The Board of Student Publications
cordially invites interested faculty and students to submit applications for positions that are opening up on the
Board for the 2000-2001 academic year. These positions include: editor-in-chief. The Hatter, editor-in-chief, The
Reporter: editor-in-chief, Touchstone: business manager, The Reporter: business manager. The Hatter: and faculty-
at-large member of the Board. Position descriptions and applications are available at the front of the Hollis Center.
Applications are due to Mickey Parker by February 25. The Board encourages faculty members to help us recruit
talented students who might assist the Board in the development of strong student publications programs. Please
