REMINDER-IDEAS NEEDED! Members of the Professional Development Committee ask that you submit ideas for
possible workshops for the 1994-95 academic year. We had five very successful workshops this year and wish
to continue the tradition. Please become involved. If you think of ideas now, or over the summer, please pass
on to any member of this year's committee (Duncan Couch, Betty Johnson, Mary Ann Lederhaus, Phiilip Lucas,

STOVER THEATRE PRESENTS ONE-ACT PLAY FESTIVAL. Stover Theatre will conclude its current production
season with a festival of four one-act plays. The plays will be presented in sets of two on two weekends in April.
The first set of plays will play Saturday, April 16, and Monday, April 18, and the second on Saturday, April 23,
and Monday, April 25. All performances begin at 8:00 p.m. The first set of plays consists of "Impromptu" by Tad
Mosel and The Actor's Nightmare by Christopher Durang, both of which examine the mechanics of theatre. The
next set includes Car Wash by Louis Phillips and God by Woody Allen, and has a more metaphysical bent. Three
of the four plays are directed by Stetson students. Tickets are free to faculty, staff, and students and may be
reserved, but seating is general admission. For reservations and further information, call 822-8700.

Dr. Anne Hallum, associate professor of political science, will present the next Collegial Seminar on Friday, April
22, at noon in the Private Dining Room. The topic will be "Churches versus Poverty in Guatemala: Max Weber
Revisited." The "welfare policy" of the government of desperately poor Guatemala is to encourage nongovernmental organizations, primarily churches, to care for the poor. What are some results and implications of
this "policy"? The paper is one product of Dr. Hallum's sabbatical research and fieldwork in Guatemala and will
be presented at a conference on "Public Justice and Welfare Reform" in Washington in May. Collegial Seminars
give members of the Stetson community the opportunity to learn about our colleagues' professional production.

FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR EXCHANGE. On Wednesday, April 20, at 3:30 p.m. there will be a meeting of those
interested in pursuing a Fulbright Scholar Exchange. The purpose will be to discuss how to research and write a
competitive proposal. Even if you are thinking of it as a possibility some years in the future, please feel free to
attend. The application procedure can often involve a several-year process. The meeting will take place 227

the best representatives of Stetson University, it is important that they help convey a consistent corporate image
for the university. Please remind your students that the wordmark is our primary graphic identity, and any group
identity should work in conjunction with the wordmark, not stand alone. Thank you for your assistance in
