The discussion group on religious/political social movements will meet today, Friday, March 31. at noon in the
Faculty Lounge, Carlton Union Building. If you are interested in this informal group, please join us. If you have

REMINDER-The Professional Development Committee is sponsoring a workshop on Tenure and Promotion at
Stetson. The workshop will be held on Monday, April 3, at 4:00 p.m., in the Private Dining Room of the Carlton
Union Building. Provost Gene Lubot, Sims Kline, and Deans Gary Maris, Paul Dascher, and Jim Woodward will give
short panel presentations on the procedures and criteria for tenure and promotion in each school. The chairs of
each school's tenure and promotion committees will also be on hand to add their expertise. The panel
presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session. Copies of the current procedure/criteria for
tenure and promotion for each school will be on library reserve. Our hope is that faculty will take this opportunity
to become informed about their school's current procedures and criteria for tenure and promotion and to ask
questions concerning areas of unclarity or confusion. Please contact me at ext. 8894 to confirm your attendance.

ETTER McTEER TURN AWARD. Faculty and staff are invited to submit nominations for the second annual Etter
McTeer Turner Award, which will recognize the graduating senior who has achieved the highest standards of
excellence in academic performance, leadership, community service, personal character, and integrity. The award
is initiated by the J, Ollie Edmunds family, through the Gualala Foundation, to honor the person and service of Etter
McTeer Turner, and will provide a companion student award to the William Hugh McEniry Excellence in Teaching
Awards, which also was established by Dr. Edmund's foundation to recognize outstanding faculty members. A
committee, including faculty appointed by the Faculty Senate, will review all nominations and determine the award
recipient. Please provide as much background information as possible for each person who is nominated.
Nominations should be forward to me at Campus Box 8358 by April 12. 1995.

REMINDER-ALGERNON SYDNEY SULLIVAN AWARDS. Faculty and staff are invited to offer nominations for the
1995 Algernon Sydney Sullivan Awards. These awards are given annually to the man and the woman in the May
graduating class "whose personal example and influence throughout the campus community best exemplifies the
finest spiritual qualities of humanity and high character." This prestigious award generally is considered among
the highest recognition given to a graduating senior and is given at many universities jointly by the institution and
the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation in New York. A committee, including faculty appointed by the Faculty
Senate, will review all nominations and determine the award recipients. Please provide as much background
information as possible for each person who is nominated. Nominations should be forwarded to Jim Beasley at
