SENATE MEETING. The March meeting of the 1990-91 Faculty Senate will be held on Monday,
March 11, at 6:45 p.a. in the Private Dining Room. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m.
for $4.50. Dinner reservations should be made with Anne Hallum at ext. 7575 by noon on
Monday. President Lee will address the Senate. Liz Schumaker will report on decisions
made at the recent NCAA meeting that may be of interest to the faculty. Other topics to
be discussed include a proposal to limit weekend work requests on the faculty, a report
from the Academic Affairs Committee on minority issues and the curriculum, and
recommendations from the Faculty Welfare Committee concerning a copyright compliance
policy, the effect of the demise of the law allowing mandatory retirement of tenured
faculty, and the management of the promotion and tenure track for faculty.

The Faculty Women's Caucus will meet again on Tuesday, March 12, noon to 1:00 p.m. in
the Faculty Lounge. We will continue discussion of issues raised at the last meeting.

GRADE INVENTORIES. Class rolls for the mid-term grade inventory will be distributed no
later than Wednesday, March 13. All rolls are due in the Registrar's Office by 9:00 a.m.,
Friday, March 22, whether you have "D" or "F" grades to report or not. If you have any
questions, please contact the Registrar's Office at ext. 7142.

STRATEGIES FOR RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION FROM A SMALL, COMPREHENSIVE UNIVERSITY BASE:
The Professional Development Committee will sponsor a two-part workshop on this topic.
Tuesday, March 12, at 4:00 p.m., the first session, will include an overview on research
strategies for access to materials and ways to locate publishing opportunities, presented
by David Everett. This will be followed by a faculty panel (Paul Croce, Susan Wilson,
Richard Wood, Ken Everett, and Nick Maddox) describing research experiences, not all
library-oriented, while at Stetson. This meeting will be held in The Coffee House (note
change of location) at the north end of the CUB's second floor, followed by dinner in the
Private Dining Room.
The brief follow up sessions will be Thursday, March 14, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Library.
Small groups, led by librarians David Everett, Jane Bradford, Sue Ryan, and Leigh Ann
Dorsey will focus on the humanities, the social sciences, the physical sciences, and
business. Appointments for more in-depth work will be available. Call Cheryl Gregory,
ext. 8181 for reservations by Monday, March 11.
