ANNOUNCEMENTS
BACCALAUREATE. The baccalaureate service will be held on Sunday, May 15, at 8:30 a.m. in Elizabeth Hall
Chapel (PLEASE NOTE NEW PLACE). The abbreviated line of march (attached elsewhere to The Newsletter) will
form at 8:00 a.m. in the hallway of Elizabeth Hall. Brunch will be served at 10:00 a.m. in the Stetson Room for
parents, students, and faculty.
COMMENCEMENT. The Commencement Exercise will begin at 1:30 p.m. The line of march for Commencement
will form at 12:45 p.m. in front of the Lambda Chi Alpha House on fraternity row. Full academic regalia is
requested. The line of march will move not later than 1:15 p.m. in order to be seated by 1:30 p.m. In case of
rain, the line will form in the hallway on the second floor south side of Edmunds Center.

FINAL GRADES FOR ALL STUDENTS ARE DUE IN THE REGISTRAR'S OFFICE BY 9:00 A.M. TUESDAY, MAY 17.
All grades, to include those already given for graduated seniors, are to be recorded on the official grade rolls.
Please hand deliver the rolls to the Registrar's Office. That way we can resolve any problems that may exist.

As we approach the end of the semester, many of you are (or will be) cleaning your offices and throwing away
books and other bulk trash. Please do not overload the trash containers. Most containers are only designed to
hold up to 40 lbs. Recently, many of our housekeeping crew have sustained back and muscle strain injuries when
they unsuspectingly pick up an overloaded trash can. Please stack books outside your office doorway so that the
night crew can clearly see them. If you have a large volume of trash and need a larger container, call ext. 8803
and leave a message so that the Housekeeping supervisor can make special arrangements to accommodate your

The Cumberland Children's Chorus of Cookeville, Tennessee, will offer a joint performance with the Stetson
University Children's Choir on Friday, May 20, at 8:00 p.m. in Elizabeth Hall Auditorium. The concert will feature
works by J.S. Bach, Malcolm Williamson, Gregg Smith, Eric Thiman and Morgan Lewis. In its third year of
existence, the Cumberland Children's Chorus is directed by Linda Ferreira. In 1993, the Chorus performed Gregg
Smith's opera Rip Van Winkle with the Gregg Smith Singers and Gregg Smith conducting. The concert was
televised by the Upper Cumberland Public Station WCTE, and has since been broadcast on PBS stations throughout
the United States. The Chorus has also performed with the Mastersingers of Cookeville and in 1993, presented
the award winning Festival of Children's Choirs which featured the Stetson University Choir. The Cumberland
Chorus has received the National Award for excellence in Arts Programming from the National Recreation and Parks
Association, as well as a 1994 Meet the Composer/Readers Digest Commissionary Program grant, of Music
