ANNOUNCEMENTS
SPRING THEOLOGY LECTURES-February 2-4. This series is scheduled for the 10:00 hour and a modified schedule
follows. The guest speaker is Dr. Donald Capps from Princeton Theological Seminary. Dr. Donald Capps is the
William Harte Felmeth Professor of Pastoral Theology and Chair of the Department of Practical Theology at
Princeton Theological Seminary, where he has taught since 1981. Prior to that time he taught at The Graduate
Seminary, Phillips University, UNC-Charlotte, the Divinity School of the University of Chicago, and Oregon State
University. He holds the B.A. degree from Lewis and Clark College, B.D. and S.T.M. degrees from Yale Divinity
School, and M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from The Divinity School University of Chicago. He also has been awarded
the Th.D. (hon.) from the University of Uppsala (Sweden).
Dr. Capps is the author or editor of numerous books, including The Religious Personality. Encounter with Erickson,
Pastoral Care: A thematic Approach, Pastoral Care and Preaching, Biblical Approaches to Pastoral Counseling,
Pastoral Care and Hermeneutics. Deadly Sins and Saving Virtues. Reframing: A New Method in Pastoral Care, and
The Depleted Self: Sin in a Narcissistic Age.
Dr. Capps is an ordained Lutheran Minister (E.L.C.A.). He is married and the father of one son.
