On Friday, April 29, at noon in the Private Dining Room, Dr. Richard Kindred, Associate Professor of Psychology,
will present "Language and Intimacy in Gestalt Therapy." Gestalt therapy, a theory of personality and
psychotherapy developed initially by Frederick Perls in the 1950's, is well-known for its attention to non-verbal
aspects of behavior. In practice, however, gestalt therapists pay as much or more attention to various aspects
of the language used by their clients. Explicit and implicit references to the importance of the form of language
used by a client are scattered throughout the literature (and clinical oral tradition) of Gestalt therapy. To date,
however, there has been no one source in which these ideas have been effectively integrated, developed, and
illustrated. Bring your lunch; coffee and dessert are provided by Dean Maris of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Today, Friday, April 22, at 10:00 a.m. in room 224 of the Lynn Business Center, Mr. Neil B. Godick, President of
PHLburg International, Inc., will speak on the topic, "Doing Business in Russia Today." An accountant as well as
a corporation president, Mr. Godick leads an organization with offices in Philadelphia and Moscow, and which sells
cosmetics in the Russian market. He has successfully opened franchise offices in many Russian cities (such as
Samara and Astrakhan) where there are virtually no other western entrepreneurs. Mr. Godick's insights should
prove valuable for many students considering a career in international business.
On Thursday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m., in the John E. Johns Room, Marina Khazanova will give a lecture, entitled
"The Time of Troubles," on contemporary Russian society and popular culture. A native Muscovite, Ms. Khazanova
is the author of numerous articles on Russian life and literature, and is presently writing a book in which she
analyzes development in Yeltsin's Russia. Her most recent visit to Moscow took place in March of the year. Ms.
Khazanova teaches Russian language and literature at Boston University. While at Stetson, she will meet with

On Friday evening, April 22, from 5:00 - 8:30 p.m., Sam's Club will have an Open House for all schools,
universities, and colleges. They will be offering one-day passes to shop and will have refreshments and door
prizes. There will be a Computer Road Show with "on the spot" financing for anyone interested in purchasing a
