The 20th Anniversary Stetson Model U.S. Senate is taking place this weekend, February 21,
22, and 23. Students from seven schools will role-play U.S. Senators and compete for
Outstanding Senator and Outstanding Committee Chairperson awards. The guest speaker will
be retired Senator Albert Gore, Sr. of Tennessee, who will speak Friday night at 8:30 p.m.

Internationally acclaimed classical guitarist David Russell will present a solo recital
on Saturday, February 23, at 8:00 p.m. in Elizabeth Hall. His appearance is sponsored
by Stetson University Artist and Lecturers Series and the School of Music, and admission
is free. Regarded as one of the world's foremost guitarists, Russell makes his second

You are cordially invited to a retirement picnic lunch honoring Mr. Gene Wilkins, General
Maintenance Manager, Physical Plant, on Tuesday, February 26, at noon. The picnic will
be at the Physical Plant. If you plan to attend, please pick up your complimentary ticket
at the Physical Plant office by February 21, 1991.

There is one film remaining in celebration of Black History Month.

The film will last
February 28, 7:30 p.m. in 5L: "We Shall Overcome," a history of the great song and its
relation to Black history. Chuck McKnight will lead a brief discussion after the film.
The film series has been sponsored by the United Minority Caucus, the Office of Minority
Student Affairs, the History Department, and the Hollis Leadership Development Committee.

TO ALL DEPARTMENTS. The Stetson Story, a brief history of Stetson in brochure form, has
been updated and will be reprinted in March. Originally written by Gilbert Lycan, the
brochures is 10 pages, and describes each Stetson presidency and major accomplishments
or events. The update was done by Dr. Pope Duncan, Chancellor. Any office desiring
copies (at approximately .45 each), should call the Public Relations Office, ext. 8920,
with their account number and quantity desired by February 28.
