ACADEMIC JUDGES NEEDED APRIL 7 FOR THE UNIVERSITY'S UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH AND CREATIVE
ARTS SYMPOSIUM. The 12th annual Stetson Undergraduate Research and Creative Arts Symposium (SURCAS) is an all
day juried showcase on April 7 of the best student research and creative projects. This year, we expect to have four
concurrent venues of oral presentations and two venues of posters and artwork. We are in need of four or five judges
willing to hear and/or view student presentations from 8 am until 4 pm on that day (with a lunch break), and determine the
best student presentation in each venue. Each pair of judges will hear all the entries in their particular venue before
making their joint decision. Winning students will receive the coveted Maris Prize for outstanding achievement. This year,
we are especially looking for judges with grounding in Humanities and Fine Arts, but academic expertise in the Social or
Physical Sciences is also welcome. If you are interested in the opportunity to hear what Stetson students are doing
beyond the classroom, and would like to be a judge, please contact Dr. Kimberly Reiter as soon as possible at
