Stetson university and the American Heart Association present: DANCE FOR HEART. A
six-hour aerobics marathon at the Edmunds Center on Saturday, April 29, 1989, at noon
to 6:00 p.m. This will be a six-hour aerobics/health event, sorority and fraternity
members, independents, faculty and staff are invited to participate in an aerobics
"team event" for sponsorships. Area businesses in the health-oriented fields will
also be involved by setting up booths and providing information. Newspapers and TV
stations will cover this big community event. For more information contact Sherry

The May Collegial Seminar sponsored by Arts and Sciences will feature Mr. David
Lawson's paper "John Hopfield: The New Galileo," in which he argues that Hopfield's
discovery of an entirely new method of parallel computation, which uses neural
networks, is such a substantial contribution to human thought that it may rival
Galileo's. Professor Lawson will discuss Hopfield's solution of the "Traveling
Salesman Problem," a problem which has no general solution using conventional serial
computation. All interested persons are welcome to bring a lunch and join the
discussion at noon on Monday, May 1, in the Private Dining Room.

This week grade rolls for graduation candidates were distributed to faculty members.
Predicted final grades are to be entered for each graduating senior and masters
candidate, and the rolls signed and returned to the Registrar's Office by 9:00 a.m.,
Friday, May 5. It is Important that these grades be as accurate as possible because
they will be used to determine if all degree requirements have been completed. If
after the evaluation of final exams, a final grade differs from the predicted grade,
this office must be notified immediately at ext. 593. Adjustments in FINAL GRADES FOR
GRADUATES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER NOON, MAY 19. From: Mr. A. L. Wehrle
Faculty advisers are reminded that advanced registration for the summer and fall
semesters will continue through May 5, 1989. If you have advisees who have not
completed their registration, they should fill out a new course request card, have it
signed by you, and they should turn it in at the Registrar's Office. Completing it

Jack Fortes has GONE FISHIN'! He didn't catch enough to feed everybody, but we're
going to have a "fish-fry" anyway. Only this time, it's going to be Jack that gets
