of your 1983-84 Academic Calendar:
Academic Advising for Summer and Fall changed from Monday-Wednesday,
April 23-25 to Monday-Wednesday, April 16-18.
Registration for Summer Session and Fall Semester changed from
Wednesday-Friday, April 25-27, to Wednesday-Friday, April 18-20.

ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS IN KIND: Stetson University is pleased to receive
gifts-in-kind, i.e. books, equipment, supplies for the use of the
University. However, there are certain Internal Revenue Service regulations with which the University must comply.
If a potential donor approaches you with an in-kind gift offer,
assure them that the University may accept those items which will be of
use in its programs and operations or which can be sold for the benefit
of the University. Then also inform the potential donor that you or the
donor must check with the Planning and Development office for details
as to the proper procedures to follow to insure that the gift will be
recognized by IRS. Please keep in mind that the essential element of
these procedures involves an adequate appraisal. An official acknowledgement stating the agreed acceptable value of the gift can only be
issued by the gift accountant in the Planning and Development office.
Your support and use of these procedures in all cases will protect
both the donor and the University in relations with IRS and possibly
avoid misunderstandings between the University and a donor friend.
