ANNOUNCEMENTS
Dr. Alexis Phylactopoulos, Director of the College Year in Athens, will be at the
International House today Friday, March 17, from 10:00 a.m. until noon. He would like
to speak to any faculty member who would be interested in sending students to study in
Athens. Majors in the Classics, Anthropology, Art History, History, Philosophy, and
Religion are especially welcome.

Collegial Seminar sponsored by Arts and Sciences will feature Dr. Anne Hallum's paper,
"Presbyterians as Political Amateurs" on Monday, March 20, at noon in the Private
Dining Room. Bring a lunch; coffee and dessert provided by the Dean of the College of
Arts & Sciences. An abstract of Dr. Hallum's paper appears elsewhere in this edition.
An additional date for collegial seminar has been added; on May 1, Professor David
Lawson will be the presenter. The next collegial seminar, on April 17, will present a

The fourth More-Effective-Writing workshop entitled "How to Spread the Word: Ways and
Means for Stetson University?" will be conducted by Mike Raymond on Tuesday, March 21,
1989, at 4:00 p.«. in room 117, Flagler Hall. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.a.
Sponsored by the Professional Development and the Writing-Across-the-Curriculum
committee, this workshop will solicit and discuss ideas for enhancing writing and the
teaching of writing on campus. Please come with your ideas even if you were unable to
participate in the first three workshops. For dinner reservations, please call the
Political Science Department office (ext. 349) or write to campus box 8302.
