OCEAN CENTER GAME—STETSON VS. MARQUETTE—FEBRUARY 8, 1988, AT 7:30 P.M. All tickets
for students, faculty and staff must be picked up today (Friday, February 5) at the
Edmunds Center ticket office by noon. There is no charge for these tickets. You must
present an ID for each ticket you obtain. Admittance to the Ocean Center will be
through the west gate marked "Student/Faculty." Your ticket will be stamped "ID
required" and must be shown when you enter. All seats are reserved—chairback. No

The next meeting of the Faculty Senate will be on Monday, February 8, at 6:45 p.m. in
the Private Dining Room of the Carlton Union Building. All faculty members are
invited to attend. From: Dr. Ellen Smith, Secretary, Faculty Senate
Dr. Bruce W. Carney, a visiting astronomer from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill, will deliver a lecture on Monday, February 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Davis
Hall auditorium. The presentation is open to the public and is entitled "A Tour of
the Solar System." The talk includes a large number of slides which will illustrate
the reasons that astronomers are interested in studying the planets. Dr. Carney's
visit is sponsored by the American Astronomical Society through the Harlow Shapley
Visiting Lectureship Endowment Program. Additional support has been provided by the
Artists and Lecturers Committee. Dr. Thomas A. Lick, Physics Department
Collegial Seminar sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences will meet on Friday,
February 12, at noon in the Private Dining Room. The paper of the day will be
"Baptists and the Holocaust: The Complicity of Silence" by Dr. Earl Joiner,
Department of Religion. An abstract of the paper is attached to this publication.
The seminar is open to all interested persons; bring a carry up lunch tray or a brown
bag. For your calendar: other collegial seminars this semester will be on March 11
