ANNOUNCEMENTS
COLLEGIAL SEMINAR sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences is today Friday, March
11, at noon in the Private Dining Room. The paper of the day will be by Dr. Mary
Pollock of the Department of English. Her title is "The Conditions for Scholarship."

The next meeting of the Faculty Senate will be on Monday, March 14, at 6:45 p.a. in
the Private Dining Room of the Carlton Union Building. All faculty are invited to

HOLLIS BOOK FEAST for April will be at 4:30 p.a. on Thursday, April 21. The book for
discussion is Robert Greenleaf's Servant Leadership, published by Paulist Press. This
book deals with leadership theory within a generally Christian framework, although the
treatment is not by any means overtly religious. As usual, staff and faculty members
will receive a free copy of the book and the meal upon a good faith promise to read
the book in advance of the discussion. The first 25 commitment-reservations to be
called in to extension 480 will be accepted. From: Dr. Paul Steeves
The Harry L. Taylor Prizes In Huaanities will be awarded in May to the students who
write the best essays on the American character. Details will be forthcoming to both
faculty and students. Alert your students to the competition. First prize is $350.
