UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEETING, Monday, January 13, 3:15 p.m., Rinker Auditorium, Davis Hall.
The agenda for the meeting will be consideration of the Senate resolution on the
implementation of the "+/-" grading system. A memo on this subject has been sent to the
home addresses of all full-time teaching faculty. Additional copies can be obtained from

During the Winter Term, Dr. Susan Wilson and students will be presenting a diverse
approach to the influence of God's word in our lives. The title for the second Winter
Term Chapel is "Views of God." PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CHAPEL HOUR IS 11:00 A.M. DURING

The January Blood Drive will be held Wednesday, January 15, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00
p.m. in the Stetson Room of the Carlton Union Building. Hospitals across the nation,
including those in our area, are facing a severe shortage of blood. Your help is urgently
needed. If we do not give, blood will not be available for those who need it. Please
support the Blood Drive by donating blood and by encouraging others to give blood.

Dr. Mart Susi, visiting lecturer in Russian Studies for the Winter Term, will give a
public lecture on Wednesday, January 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Elizabeth Hall.
His topic: "Estonia's Role in a Changing World." Dr. Susi is the first president of the
private Estonian Institute of Humanities. From: Paul Steeves
On Thursday, January 16, the American studies Department and its alumni will host a
conference in honor of the Department and John Hague on the occasion of his retirement.
The conference entitled, "Varieties of American Character and Culture," will take place
on campus and will consist of panel discussions by alumni and a keynote address by Dr.
Doris Friedensohn, which is sponsored by the Winter Term Committee. All Stetson faculty,
staff, and students are invited to attend the day-long conference. Faculty will receive
a detailed schedule by mail. For further information please call ext. 7530.
