ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Faculty Senate will meet at 6:45 p.m. Monday, February 15. 1993. in the Faculty Lounge. The meeting and
dinner are open to all faculty. Dinner will be at 6:00 p.m. in the Private Dining Room. All Senators not holding
standing reservations and any other interested faculty need to make a reservation with me by noon, Monday the
15th (ext. 7190 or 7175).
The agenda for the meeting includes reports from the Educational Policies Committee and the Handbook
Committee. Also anticipated is a recommendation from the Academic Affairs Committee concerning Winter

REMINDER-SIGN UP FOR AFRICAN SYMPOSIUM BOOKFEAST. Tuesday. February 16. 4:00-6:30 p.m..
cosponsored by the Multicultural Institute, the Office of Student Minority Affairs, and the African Symposium
Committee. The book for study will be Kaffir Bov In America, by Mark Mathabane, a South African author,
journalist and national TV panelist. Kaffir Bov In America, deals with Mathabane's life as an African in America.
The book draws parallels between apartheid in South Africa and the racial discrimination he has experienced in
America. Book Feast participants will receive a free book and dinner, and will enjoy an exciting discussion,
especially if they make a commitment to read the book in advance. Participation is limited to 40 students,
faculty and staff. PLEASE ANNOUNCE THIS IN YOUR CLASSES. The books are available from Robin Carter,
Room 334, Elizabeth Hall (ext. 7570). There are still seats available for late registrants

REMINDER--"SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN THE 90's" is a seminar being sponsored by Career Services and the
Women's Faculty Caucus on Tuesday, February 16, at 7:00 p.m. in Flagler Hall #203. Topics to be discussed
will include:
--Handling Sexual Harassment Complaints at Stetson;
--The Chilly Classroom Environment;
--The Psychological Impact of Sexual Harassment;
--Winners and Losers: The Risk of Speaking Out.
We encourage both male and female participation from students, faculty, and staff.
