"Innovations in Business: Shattering the Paradigm"

MULTICULTURAL INSTITUTE. On January 23-24, the first Multicultural Education Institute
will be held. Registration forms are available now from the Continuing Education Office
(X7500). These forms will be distributed in early January. The Institute will begin with
a keynote address on the 23rd at the opening session from 8:30 - 10:15 a.m. Workshops
will follow from 10:30 a.m. - noon. Those of particular interest to Stetson faculty and
administrators will be:
Workshop A: "Design for Diversity at the University Level" - Innovative diversity programs
which address issues related to administration, curriculum across disciplines, teaching
styles and mentoring in diversity programs will be examined. Presenter: Dr. Samuel
Cargile, Program Director, Education Division, Lilly Endowment, Inc.
Workshop B: "Faculty Issues and Diversity/Multicultural Education" - Faculty expectations,
responsibilities, desires and suggestions for addressing diversity and multiculturalism.
Presenter: Dr. Margaret Curtis, Associate Dean of Faculty, Lawrence University,
Wisconsin.
