At the General Faculty meeting, Tuesday, March 17, 1987,
Davis Hall Auditorium, the major item on the agenda will be a
the budget for 1987-88 by President Elect Douglas Lee.

The Collegial Seminar sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences
will meet on Friday, March 20, at noon in the Private Dining Room. The
paper will be presented by Professor David Lawson, Assistant Professor
of Mathematics and Computer Science. Its title is "Hybrid Axiom
Systems." An abstract of the paper appears on page 3 of This Week.
This is a brown bag or carry-up luncheon; coffee and dessert are
provided through the kindness of the dean. From: Dr. Paul Steeves
From over 100 applicants, the Dean Search Committee has chosen eight
semi-finalists. The dossiers for these candidates will be available at
the circulation desk in the library from Monday, March 16, through
Wednesday, March 25. Please note: this is the week before Spring Break
and half of the Break. We urge Arts and Sciences Faculty, staff, and
sTudents to examine the dossiers and express opinions on the response
forms also available in the library. Completed responses must be sent
so they will be received in the Provost's office no later than

REMINDER: There continues to be an increase in the number of Federal
Express and Priority Mail dispatches. These costs represent unanticipated charges against the originating department's budget. Administrators should take personal care to be certain that these shipments are
made only in cases of emergency or necessity; the administrator will
