Our University lost a great friend, leader and benefactor this week with
the passing of Chancellor J. Ollie Edmunds. His service to Stetson
spanned more than six decades as a student, trustee, president, and
chancellor. Chancellor Edmunds served on the Board of Trustees for half
of the University's first century. As president for twenty years, he
developed our faculty to its present scholarly strength, and university
buildings increased in number and scope. As a leader of higher education, he was honored with three Freedom Foundation awards, numerous
honorary degrees, and state and national posts. But, perhaps, he was
best known on our campus as a friend and a helper. We mourn his passing
and thank our Lord for his life of service to our University. His name
will be forever forged in the books of Stetson history.

Please announce to May graduates that name card orders are now being
taken at the print shop. These cards are to be inserted in graduation
announcements on sale in the Bookstore. April 30, 1984 is the printing

The Small Business Development Center and DeLand Area Chamber of Commerce
are co-sponsoring a 3-hour seminar titled "Marketing for Professionals."
The seminar will be held in Davis Hall Auditorium on April 17, 1984,
from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Speakers will be Mrs. Dorothy G. Lewis, Einhorn
and Lewis, and Ms. Debbie Berner, Briley Wild and Associates. Topics
to be covered include Public Relations and Research: A Professional
Partnership and Changing Trends in the Marketing of Professional Design
